Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.139, colour photo and description: Large size, bright pink, saucer-shaped single, of 5 broad, emarginate petals and a spreading cluster of stamens with pale yellow filaments and gold anthers. Blooms very early to mid-season. Leaves deep green, elliptic, apices tapering acute, margins serrulate. Originated in the Chūbu area, Japan. A seedling of Tarō’an.
