Delphine Johnson (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2499. AmericanCamellia Yearbook, 1999, p3, with color photo p.c.9. This pale pinkformal double C. japonica with different sized maroon stripes, is achance seedling which blooms midseason to late. Originated and propagated byElizabeth R. Scott of Aiken, sc. The 19-year-old seedling first bloomed in 1986. Average size flower is 3.5"wide and 1.5" deep with 55 star-shapedpetals around bud or center of flower. The flowers fall in one piece and have uniquecolor and form with heavy petal texture and sheen. Plant growth is upright anddense at an average growth rate. This profuse bloomer has dark green leavesmeasure 4.5" long and 2" wide in size.
