Dra. Carmen Salinero

Dra. Carmen Salinero (C. azalea). Published in Camelia, Sociedad Española de la Camelia, No. 40-41, 2022, p.74, with color photos. International Camellia Journal, 2023, No. 55,p.50. It was originated by Dr. Gao Jiyin in Palm Landscape Architecture Co, Ltd. (China) in 2015. Registered by the Estación Fitopatolóxica Areeiro (Deputación de Pontevedra, Pontevedra, Spain) in 2023. FLOWER: medium to big size, 10.5-11 cm in diameter and 5 cm depth; semi-double to open peony form; bright coral pink 52A-B (RHSCC) uniform in the external petals and with stripes with lighter pink and white stripes the internal ones; around 25 petals, elliptical with cordate margin the external ones and elliptical to irregular with cordate or waved margin the internal; petaloids from 2 to 25 striped with white and pink; about 25 stamens with orange-coloured filament. LEAVES: 7.5-8.5 cm length and 3.5-4.5 cm width, medium green, with yellow central nerve and margin, elliptic to ovate, smooth margin, only lightly dentate in the apex, and pointed apex. PLANT: shrub with semi-open growth habit. Very late blooming period, from July to September. Other data:  It was named in honour of Carmen Salinero, a Spanish women co-founder of the Spanish Camellia Society and president from its origin. She’s been director of the ICS in Spain since the 80´s and a great defender of the Galician plant heritage and especially camellias, being the main promoter of the ‘Route of the Camellia of Galicia’.

卡门萨利内罗（ Camellia azalea ‘Carmen Salinero’）。《国际山茶会志》2023年第55期50页。植株： 具有中等和半开放生长习性的灌木。 花： 中到大型花，花径约11厘米，半重瓣至松散牡丹型，明亮的珊瑚粉红色（ 52 A-B RHSCC）；花瓣约25片，外层花瓣椭圆形，内层花瓣椭圆形或不规则，边缘有凹形；小花瓣2-25片，带粉红色和白色条纹；雄蕊150多根，花丝橙色，基部为粉红色。 叶： 明亮的绿色，椭圆形至卵形。开花期晚，从7月到9月。 来源： 高继银博士于2015年在中国的棕榈园林培育。为了纪念西班牙山茶花协会的创始人卡门·萨利内罗（ Carmen Salinero），她是该协会的会长。自80年代以来，她一直担任国际山茶协会的西班牙理事，并且是加利西亚植物遗产的伟大捍卫者，尤其是山茶花，是“加利西亚山茶花之路”的主要发起人。
