Eos (C. vernalis) ACS, Reg. No.2650. American
Camellia Yearbook, 2005, p42, with color photo p.c.C4. This 10-year
old C. vernalis from C. vernalis ‘Dawn’, first bloomed in 1998. It was originated
by Robert Green of Fairhope, Alabama and propagated by Green Nurseries of
Fairhope, Alabama. ‘Eos’ is commercially available. Plant: Upright with
average growth rate. Bloom: The 3.75” dark red semidouble bloom has 20
petals with yellow anthers and white filaments. Flowers fall in one piece and
are suitable for exhibition and bloom midseason.
