Fenfumei

Fenfumei (C. gigantocarpa × C. amplexicaulis). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.457. HB-17-3., a cross seedling (BOB-No.58) of C. gigantocarpa × C. amplexicaulis. Flowers light pink, fading to white at the petal edges, single form, small to medium size, 6.0-8.0cm across with 6-7 petals, petals broad obovate, surfaces crinkled, stamens united at the base, flowers fall whole. Tender leaves dark purple red, mature leaves green, heavy leathery, long elliptic, veins obvious, margins densely and shallowly serrate. Plant upright, tall, branches dense and growth vigorous. Blooms from late-winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Pink, Rich & Beautiful Girl”.
