SCCS., 1967, Camellia Nomenclature, p.62: Peppermint striped. Large peony form. Vigorous, upright growth. Early to mid-season flowering. Originated in USA by F.A. Rowe, Waverly, Georgia.
ACS, Reg. No. 1356. American Camellia Yearbook, 1975, p 237. A 6½ year-old chance japonica seedling that :first bloomed in 1970; originated by F. A. Rowe, Waverly, Ga. ( deceased). Plant growth is upright, average and rapid in rate with dark green leaves; measuring 4 inches in length and 2lk inches in width. The peony form type bloom is peppermint with amber anthers and white Jllaments, with 35-40 petals and 5-10 petaloids. Average size 4½ inches in diameter and 2lk inches in depth. Has good lasting quality. Blooms mid-season.
