Hatsuhikari

Ishizawa, Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1966, Garden Life, No.17, p.22, as ‘Hatuhikari’: Medium sized, red, formal double with a slightly irregular centre of small, crinkled, erect petals with a little white streaking. Leaves elliptic, abrupt acute, sharply serrate, prominent, raised venation. Originated in Kurume, Japan. Considered to be a seedling of Asakura.
