Huofurong

Huofurong (C. japonica). China Regn. #2020-327. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2020, No.24, p.43.This cultivar was bred by Zhang Chenhuan and others at Xiufeng Camellia Co., Ltd., Longyan City, Fujian Province, and it is a sport of Hongfurong. The flowers are red, double rose petals, medium-sized flowers, flower diameter 8.0-10.0cm, about 20 petals, broad and obovate, slightly wavy, arranged in an orderly arrangement of more than 3 rounds, and the small petals of the flower center occasionally have white stripes. The leaves are light green, slightly shiny, thick leathery, broad and obovate, with deep pointed teeth at the edge, slightly drooping at the apex, prominent main and lateral veins on the leaf surface, clearly visible, wedge-shaped at the base, red-brown twigs, medium-dense leaves. The plants are compact, standing, shrubs, erect and growing vigorously. Flowering from February to March.

火芙蓉 Camellia japonica 'Huofurong' 中国茶花登录号：2020-327。《中国花卉园艺》2020年第24期43页。本品种由福建省龙岩市秀峰茶花有限公司张陈环等培育，系‘红芙蓉’的芽变。花朵红色，玫瑰重瓣型，中型花，花径8.0-10.0cm,花瓣20枚左右，阔倒卵形，略呈波浪状，呈3轮以上有序排列，花心小花瓣偶有白条纹。叶片浅绿色，略泛光泽，厚革质，阔倒卵形，边缘具深尖齿，先端略下垂，叶面主脉和侧脉凸起，清晰可见，基部楔形，嫩枝红褐色，叶片中等稠密。植株紧凑、立性、灌木，植株直立，生长旺盛。花期2～3月份。
