Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.l96, colour photo, p.197, description: Small size, dark red, campanulate single, with 6 rounded, oval petals of irregular size and a tall, central stamen column with pinkish filaments, joined for the lower third, and yellow anthers. Blooms mid-season to late. Leaves small, mid to dark green, elliptic, apices acuminate, margins shallowly serrate. Originated in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. A seedling of Chōchidori. Originated by Tadao Yamaguchi, named and released in 1978.
