Jiuyue Jingyan

Jiuyue Jingyan (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Hongwu Jixiang'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.302. HAR-10-5., a cross seedling (DHW-No.8) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Hongwu Jixiang'. Flowers peach red with a few white stripes, occasionally with large and hazy white patches in hot season, semi-double form, medium to large size, 8.0-11.2cm across and 4.8cm deep with 22- 25 large petals arranged orderly in 3 rows, petals long obovate, stamens slightly united at the base, scattered. Leaves dark green, leathery, elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins obtusely serrate. Plant compact and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “September's Amazement”.
