Kaiyun

Kaiyun (C.  reticulata). China Regn. #2014-145. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2014, No.12, p.52. Flowers rose form, red 12-14cm diameter, petals 16-20 in 3-4 whorls, petals incurved in a V shape and emarginate, large outer petals, stamens divided into bundles in the center. Leaves elliptic to long elliptic, 10-12.5 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, apices acuminate, bases cuneate, with prominent veining. Flowers mid-season. The name of this cultivar was named after Guan Kaiyun, the professor of Kunming Institute of Botany, CAS and the president of Internationa Camellia Society (2016-2021).

开云 Camellia reticulata ‘Kaiyun’ 中国登录号：2014-145，《中国花卉园艺》2014年第12期52页。由肖永先以管开云的名字命名，云南省腾冲县腾越镇侍郎坝肖家寨的肖永先培育并登录。本品种从红花油茶林中选育，花色红艳，放射状，具较好的观赏性。花红色，玫瑰型，花径12～14厘米，花瓣16～20枚，呈V型内曲，3～4轮着生，先端凹缺，外轮花瓣大，雄蕊分束集于花心，雌蕊发育良好，偶能结实。叶椭圆形至长椭圆形，长10～12.5厘米，宽4～5厘米，先端尾尖，基部楔形，叶面叶脉明显。花期1月～2月。本品种以中国科学院昆明植物研究所管开云研究员的名字命名，2016-2021年任国际山茶协会主席。
