Tuyama, 1968, Camellia of Japan, pl.319, p.161, description, p.185: Leaves narrowly ovate-elliptic to elliptic, apex long acuminate, undulate, venation slightly impressed, about 6.2 cm long x 2.2 cm wide; petiole 5-6 mm long, hairy. Flow­ers, single, white with slightest nuance of pink, striped pink (Rose Madder 12/3) in various degrees. Petals 5, thin texture, irregularly lobulated. Staminal tube, 3.5 cm high, narrow, fila­ments white with brownish-black anthers. Flowers mid-season to late. Originated in the Shira­hata-machi, Toyama Prefecture, Japan.
