Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.62 with colour photo; English translation p.41. Medium size, deep red tubular single, cylindrical stamens. Flowers mid-season to late. Leaves narrowly elliptic, medium size. Spreading, vigorous growth. Selected from cultivars in a private family garden in Kyoto City, named and released by Minoru Satō in 1971. From Kyoto to Aichi Prefecture.
