[History] Jinnohira Hirano was selected from the Uji Native Tea Garden, and was registered in 1954 after a candidate primary tree performance comparison test (strain comparison test). The old strain name is "Hirano No. 55". In front of the Manpukuji Temple of Obakuyama, which is closely related to the origin of Uji tea, there is a monument of "Koma no Hokage ni Manashikage" related to Myoe. This variety was named “Komakage (Komakage)” because the selected tea garden is closest to the monument. In addition, f top J is said to be "thin", that is, a small sprout is M, and "kage" is also meant to be "yin," that is, subordinate tea.
[Early-early] Mid-Ambrosia species whose germination stage is 3 days later than that of Yabukita, and whose plucking period is 5 days later.
[Morphological characteristics] The shape of the tree is a little upright, and the tree's vigor and strain are medium. The growth of mature trees is vigorous. The picked buds are a little in good alignment, small in size, and have a large number of buds, and the bud number type yield composition is likely to occur. The traits of new leaves are oblong, slightly small, slightly thick, dark brown, and slightly glossy. Since the tip length of the new leaf is short, the shape is rounder than the characteristic value, giving the impression of an oval shape. The mature leaves are oblong in shape, slightly small in size, medium in thickness, dark green in color, have little gloss, have slight wrinkles on the surface, are slightly inwardly bent, and have fine saw teeth. The branches have a short internode length and are thin. Since the shoots harden a little early, care must be taken not to miss the suitable time for plucking.
[Rooting ability of cuttings] Although the rooting ability is good and the raising of seedlings is easy, there is not much growth in root placement and above ground.
[Good or bad of initial growth] It is slow and it takes a long time to grow up. The survival after planting is good.
[Method of tailoring young trees] In order not to delay the initial growth, strong pruning should be avoided, and a slightly higher tree shape should be created according to the growth of the shoots. In the case of natural tailoring, plucking in the autumn makes it easier for the axillary buds to be enriched, and the alignment is good. Also, remove the side branches that are inferior in growth. In machine-picking tailoring, if thin mother stems are densely packed, the new shoots become smaller and they harden and spread faster.

[Quality] The appearance is uniform and the colors are clear. The quality of the product has a unique scent and rich richness that sometimes gives a hard impression.
[Cold resistance] Slightly strong against red withering and laceration type frost damage, strong against blue withering.
[Insect resistance] Medium against anthrax disease, strong against ring-root.
[Suitable for cultivation] Due to its strong cold resistance, it can be applied to snowy areas and mountain cool areas. It can be used as a combination of plucking period as a middle-aged variety.

【来歴】宇治在来種茶園から平野甚之丞により選抜され,候補原樹性能比較試験(系統比較試験)を経て,1954年に育成登録された。旧系統名は‘平野55号’。宇治茶発祥と縁の深い黄檗山万福寺の門前に,明恵上人ゆかりの「駒の蹄影にまのあしかげ)」の碑がある。本品種は,選抜された茶園がその碑に最も近いことから「こまかげ(駒影)」と名付けられた。なお,fこまJは「細」すなわち新芽が小さMことを,「かげ」は「陰」すなわち覆下茶であることをも表わすという。
【早晩性】萌芽期は‘やぶきた•より3日程度遅く,摘採期は5日程度遅い中晚生種。
【形態的特性】樹姿はやや直立型,樹勢および株張りは中。成木の生育は旺盛である。摘芽は,揃いがやや良,大きさが小,芽数がやや多であり,芽数型の収量構成になりやすい。新葉の形質は,長楕円,やや小,やや厚,濃褐色,光沢がやや多。新葉の先端長が短いため,形は特性値より円く小判型の印象を受ける。成葉は,形が長楕円,大きさがやや小,厚さが中,色が濃緑,光沢が少,表面のしわが少なぐやや内折れし,細かな鋸歯が目立つ。枝条は節間長が短く•細い。新芽の硬化がやや早いので,摘採適期を逸することのないよう注意を要する。
【挿し木発根性】やや良で,育苗は容易であるものの,根置と地上部の生育量は多くはない。
【初期生育の良否】緩慢で成園になるのが遅い。定植後の活着は良好である。
【幼木の仕立て法】初期生育を遅延させないために強い剪枝はひかえ,枝条の生育に応じてやや高めの樹形をつくるとよい。自然仕立てでは,秋季に摘心を行なうと腋芽が充実しやすく,揃いも良い。また,生育の劣る側枝は除去しておく。機械摘み仕立てでは,細い母茎を密生させると,新芽が小型になり硬化および出開きが早くなるので,適切な剪枝により更新を行なう。
【収量性】中程度。
【品質】外観は揃いが良く色沢が鮮明。内質は時に硬い印象を与えるがくを感じさせる独特の品種香と濃厚な滋味を備える。
【耐寒性】赤枯れと裂傷型凍害に対してやや強,青枯れに対して強。
【耐病虫性】炭疽病に対して中,輪麵に対して強。
【栽培適地】耐寒性が強v把とから,降雪地や山間冷涼地にも適応可能。中晚生の品種として摘採期の組合わせに利用できる
【加工特性】煎茶としても外観の揃いが良ぐ優良濃厚な覆い香味を生かすために,摘み遅れなぃょぅに注意する。
