Kuanghuan Wuqu

Kuanghuan Wuqu (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Buzhi Hanshu'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.377. HAR-19-1., a cross seedling (DBZHS-No.2) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Buzhi Hanshu'. Flowers deep orange red with some white stripes, semi-double form, medium size, 8.5- 10.0cm across and 6.5cm deep with 12-15 petals arranged loosely in 2-3 rows, petals narrow-long obovate, semi-erected, a few central small petals, stamens slightly united at the base. Leaves dark green, leathery, long elliptic, midrib raised, cuneate at the base, margins nearly smooth. Plant compact, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-spring, fully blooms in summer, autumn and winter. The cultivar name means “Orgiastic Dance Tune”.
