Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.244, description, p.245, colour photo: Medium size, brilliant red with white variegation, wide, cup shaped single with a central stamen cylinder, having pinkish filaments, joined for the lower third, and yellow anthers. Blooms mid-season to late. Originated in Kurume, Fukutoka Prefecture, Japan. Resembles Shokkō. Named and released by Takatoshi Matsuno in 1970.
