New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1984, vol.XIII, No.6, p.22, Reg. No.198: A chance seedling raised by Mrs Ida Berg, Whakatane, New Zealand that first flowered 1980. A cross between C.reticulata ‘Crimson Robe’ (Dataohong) x C.japonica Dixie Knight. Medium, upright growth with dark green leaves, 10 cm x 5 cm. The large, peony form, bright scarlet flowers are 15 cm across x 6 cm deep with 14 petals and many petaloids, cream filaments and yellow anthers. Late flowering.
