Courtois, 1833, Magazine d’Horticulture, 1[pt.D]:316: Marbled. Berlèse, 1837, Monographie, ed.1, pp.119, 132: Leaves, roundish-oval, deeply serrate; bud small, rounded at base, a little pointed at apex; flower, semi-double, cherry-red, marbled with white.
