Courtois, 1833, Magazine d’Horticulture, 1[pt.D]:316: Marbled. Berlèse, 1837, Monographie, ed.1, pp.119, 132: Leaves, roundish-oval, deeply serrate; bud small, rounded at base, a little pointed at apex; flower, semi-double, cherry-red, marbled with white. It resembles 'Masayoshi' but stamens are different. Originated in Belgium. Illustrations: G. Cattolica et alli, "Camelie dell'Ottocento in Italia" (1992) fig 21; A. Corneo & D.
