Mingxing Fengfan

Mingxing Fengfan (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari  Tange'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.284. HAR-07-2., a cross seedling (DXRTG-No.5) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari  Tange'. Flowers light peach red to orange pink, central small petals with white stripes, semi- double to peony form, medium to large size, 9.5-11.5cm across and 4.8cm deep with 18-23 large petals arranged in 2-3 rows, petals broad obovate, central small petals wrinkled, stamens slightly united at the base, filaments scattered. Leaves dark green, leathery, cuneate at the base, margins nearly smooth. Plant compact and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Star Manner”.
