Tuyama, 1968, Camellias of Japan, pl.125, p.63, descrip­tion, p.124: Leaves, dark green, thick, ovate-elliptic to lanceolate-elliptic, base obtuse, apex acute, venation impressed, depresso-serrate margins, 6.5-7 cm long x 2.4-3.4 cm wide, petioles about 6 mm long, very hairy. Flowers semi-double, pink (Neyron Rose 623) inner petals wrin­kled, with a few irregular stamens. Petals 20-24, largest, 4.6 cm long x 3.8 cm broad. Stamens 2.6-3.9 cm high in 5 fascicles, creamy filaments. Late flowering. Originated in Niigata Prefec­ture, Japan.
