Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.352, description, p.353, colour photo, as ‘Nanto-shiro-karako’: Medium size. white, anemone form double with rounded, broad, overlapping outer guard petals, and a broad cen­tral boss of small, erect petals, petaloids and stamens. Leaves deep green, elliptic, apices taper­ing acuminate, margins sharply serrate. Blooms mid-season to late. Originated in the Minami-tonami district, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. Selected by Takashi Tsuchiya in 1960s, named by Takeo Ogawa.
