GSCT49 (Ningzhou 2). Clonal new variety. Frutex tjrpe. Medium-leaf size- Medium sprouting.
It was seiected individually from the
Ningzhou variety in 1962~1984
by Jiujiang Tea Research Institute, Jiangxi province. Now it has been
popularized in the major tea area of Jiangxi province and was introduced in
limited area to Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu and Hunan provinces.
Plant medium size with denser branching.
Spreading type in shape. Leaves horizontal. Length 9.0~9.5cm, width 4:.5~5.0 cm. Oblong in shape.
Green in color and glossy. With blunt pointed tips. Surface of leaves
protruding. Slightly waved margin as well as less and shallow serrations. The
sprouting period in the spring season appears in the third ten days of March. The
plucking period of one bud and three leaves shoot appears tn the third ten days
of April. With average sprouting density and vigorous sprouting ability. Shoots
rather stout, green in color with average amounts of fine hairs. The weight of
100 one bud and three leaves leaves shoots averaged 71g. The peak period of
flowering stage appears in the first ten days of November. With abundant
amounts of flowers and high bearing percentage. With rather higher resistance
to drought and frost (it was uninjuried under the conditions of absolute
minimum temperature of -8°C). Moderate resistance to diseases and insect pests.
High rooting ability during cutting propagation.
High yielding. According to the results
of varietial comparative experiment carried out in 1977~1984,the yield of made tea averaged
237.8 kg per mu, and 26.2% higher than that of Ningzhou variety.
According to the analysis conducted by
the Jiujiang Tea Research Institute, Jiangxi province, the contents of tea
polyphenols in the one bud and three leaves, shoots averaged 24.97%,water
extracts 41.69%. The black tea prepared with GSCT49 variety as the raw material
is characterized by its fragrant aroma as well as strong and refreshing taste,
leaf with fine hairs. The roasted green tea prepared with this variety shows
fresh aroma and full taste.
Suitable to popularize in the tea area
in the south-of-Yangzte River for the manufacture of green tea.
It is recommended to select the
red-yellow earth with deep soil layer for the establishment of tea garden. Owing
to the fact of rapid growth rate during the young plant stage, it is necessary
to carry out the format-pruning in time.

【产地与分布】由江西省九江市茶叶科学研究所于1962~1984年从宁州群体中采用单株育种法育成。主要分布在江西修水、铜鼓、武宁等县。为宁红的当家品种。江苏、湖南、福建、河南等省有引种。1987年通过全国农作物品种审定委员会认定,编号GS13049-1987。
【形态特征】 植株大小适中,树姿开张,分枝密。叶片呈水平状着生,椭圆形,叶色绿,有光泽,叶面微隆起,叶尖钝尖,叶缘微波,叶齿粗浅。花冠直径3.4~3.9cm,萼片3枚、少毛,花瓣白色、4~5瓣,子房茸毛中等,花柱3裂。结实性弱。
【特性】 2011年在江西南昌黄马观测,一芽二叶期出现于4月18日,比福鼎大白茶晚18天。芽叶生育力強,发芽密度中等,绿色,较肥壮,茸毛中等,一芽三叶百芽重71.0g。春茶一芽二叶干样约含茶多酚19.0%、氨基酸2.6%、咖啡碱4.1%、水浸出物50.1%。产量高,每667㎡可产干茶350kg。适制红茶、緑茶。制红茶,显毫,香高,味浓醇厚;制緑茶,清香味醇。抗寒性较强、抗旱性较弱,抗病虫性中等。
【适栽地区】江南茶区。
【栽培要点】宜选择土层深厚的红黄壤地块建园。幼龄期生长较快,定植后要及时定型修剪。夏茶需及时防治茶轮斑病、炭疽病。
