Camillo Aureliano 1881, Jornal de Horticultura Pratica, 12:183­184: This camellia has the shape of a large rose, notched and imbricated, with petals of a bright cherry colour. The smaller petals near the centre are a light rose with a tendency to light purple close to the centre. The leaves are long, light green and very acuminate. Its properties can be compared with Regina dei Giganti. Originated in Portugal by Joaquim Albino Dias de Castro and given the name of his wife. Originated in Portugal.
