Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.85, colour photo and description: Very small size, soft pink, single of 6-7 petals, some reflexed, in 2 rows, opening saucer-shaped with a central cylinder of stamens, white filaments and pale yellow anthers. Fragrant. Leaves elliptic-lanceolate, dark green, apices long acuminate, margins sharply serrate. Blooms early to mid-season. A natural seedling of C.rosiflora origin. “Ro” = rosiflora. “ka” = fragrant. Originated in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. Named and released by Nobuo Sasai in 1978.
