Originated by the Low Nursery, Clapton, England. de Jonghe, 1851, Traité de la Culture du Camelie, p.121 as ‘Rubescens’(Low): Regular imbricated double, of deep pink or salmon; the petals striped white. Very vigorous growth and a naturally pyramidal habit. Synonyms: ‘Rubescens de Low’, ‘Rubescens’(Low) ‘ ‘Rubescens Nova’, ‘Rubens Striata’. Orthographic error: ‘Rubiscens’.
