Sakuraba Party Dress

from Kodaira, Tokyo. Japan Camellia No.84, August 2007: Pink, single, petals frilled, cylindrical stamens, small to medium, blooming in March. Leaves lanceolate, waved, margins roughly serrated as in cherry leaves. (‘Sakuraba’ means ‘cherry leaves’.) Tree upright. A crossing between Kishibe-no-sakuraba and a Tulip Time descendant. Produced by Shinichi Noguchi and named in 2002.
