Songhua Erpian

Songhua Erpian (C. japonica). China Regn. #2020-315. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2020, No.12, p.58. This cultivar was obtained from the cross combination of ‘Xin Songhua’ x ‘Xiaosongzi’, and it bloomed for the first time in 2016. Through grafting and cuttings, flowers will bloom again in 2018. The flowers are dark red (46B), from semi-double to rose double, with a flower diameter of 6.0 to 7.0 cm, with 20 to 30 petals arranged in an orderly arrangement in 3 rounds. The petals are relatively flat, slightly folded inward along the midrib, and white fine lines are occasionally seen in the center petal. Occasionally, hexagon-shaped flowers appear. After fully opening, the petals are inward as a whole, and the stamens are connected together at the base, the filaments are red, the anthers are golden, and the flowers are dense. The leaves are medium green, smooth, leathery, elliptical, 7.0-8.0 cm long, 4.5-5.0 cm wide and flat, with acuminate apex, shallow, dull and thin teeth, and a wedge-shaped base. The plants are open, plump, shrub-like, and growing vigorously. Flowering period: late February to late March.

松花耳片 Camellia  japonica 'Songhua Erpian' 中国茶花登录号：2020-315。《中国花卉园艺》2020年第12期58页。本品种系红山茶品种‘新松花’X 红山茶品种‘小松子’这一杂交组合获得的，2016年首次开花。通过嫁接和扦插，2018年再次开花。花朵深红色（46B），半重瓣型至玫瑰重瓣型，花径6.0～7.0 cm，花瓣20～30枚 呈3轮有序排列。花瓣较平整，沿中脉略内折，中心花瓣偶见不明显白色细纹。偶有出现呈六角形的花朵，完全开放后花瓣整体向内合，呈阔钟状，雄蕊基部连生，花丝红色，花药金黄色，开花稠密。叶片中等绿色，光滑，革质，椭圆形，叶长7.0～8.0 cm，宽4.5～5.0 cm平整，先端渐尖，叶齿浅、钝稀，基部楔形。植株开张，丰满、灌丛状，生长旺盛。花期：2月下旬～3月下旬。
