Suyan

Suyan (C. japonica)   2011. Plant relatively vigorous with open crown, medium abundantly branching. Leaves deep green, long elliptic, with edge recurved upwards as spoon shaped, slightly wavy, with apex acuminate, base broad obtuse, measured 7 cm to 8 cm across by 2.5 cm to 3 cm wide, serrate deep and fine. Flowers are pink red. Petals elliptic, with apex deeply notched, folded,6-8 segments. Stamens normal, with filaments combined as tubular at basal part, diameter 8 cm to 10 cm wide, single form, medium abundant inflorescence. Blooms January to March, at fully blooming in February.  Key points of identification: Petal edge recurved upwards as spoon shaped, leave margin wavy, and petals folded. from Chongqing of China.

素颜 Camellia japonica 'Suyan' 周利主编、2011《川茶品种图鉴》 p.170。树势较强，树冠开张，成枝力中等；叶深绿色，长椭圆形，叶片边缘上翘呈匙状，叶缘略显波浪状。叶先端尾尖，基部楔形，叶长7cm-8cm,宽2.5cm-3cm，叶齿深密；花粉红色，花瓣椭圆形，瓣端具深缺凹，花瓣皱裙，6枚-8枚，雄蕊发育完全，花丝基部连生成筒状，花径8cm-l0cm，单瓣型，花量中等，花期1月-3月，盛花期2月。识别特征：叶片边缘上翘呈匙状，叶缘略显波浪状。花瓣皱褶。原始产地：重庆
