Tandang Xionghuai

Tandang Xionghuai (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari Hongjuan'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.384. HAR-22-1., a cross seedling (DHJ-No.1) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari Hongjuan'. Flowers pink to deep pink, single form, very large size, 13.5-14.0cm across with 6 petals, petals slightly round with 7.2cm long and 7.0cm wide, the upper part of the petals slightly curved outward, longitudinal veins visible on the petal surfaces, stamens united into a short column, filaments tightly, anthers yellow, bloom dense, flowers fall whole. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, broad elliptic, margins shallowly serrate at the top part. Plant upright and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Magnanimous Mind”.

坦荡胸怀 Camellia ‘Tandang Xionghuai’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第384页。 HAR-22-1.杂交组合：杜鹃红山茶×杜鹃红山茶F1代新品种‘夏日红绢’，杂交苗编号：DHJ-No.1。花朵粉红色至深粉红色，单瓣型，巨型花，花径13.5-14.0cm，花瓣6枚，近圆形，长7.2cm，宽7.0cm，上部略外弯，瓣面可见明显的纵向脉纹，雄蕊基部连生，呈短柱状，花丝紧实，花药黄色，开花稠密，花朵整朵掉落。叶片浓绿色，叶背面灰绿色，厚革质，阔椭圆形，长8.5-9.0cm，宽4.5-5.0cm，边缘上部具浅齿，下部边缘光滑。植株立性，生长旺盛。夏末始花，秋、冬季盛花，春季零星开花。
