Higo Camellia Society, Apr. 1965, Higo Tsubaki, No.1, illustra­tion front cover: Medium size, very soft pink, petals, 6-7, margins crinkled and fluted, stamens spreading, anthers light yellow, filaments whitish-yellow. Slightly fragrant. Flowers mid-season. One of the fragrant Higos like Akatsuki-no-kaori of Kumamoto City and Nioi-fubuki: Petal ends wavy; stamens more or less 100, light yellow colour. Petals and stamens joined at base. Pistil shorter than stamens, 3-4 fid, vague purplish-red colour. Leaves elliptic to long-­elliptic, dark green.
