Tianyuan Fengguang

Tianyuan Fengguang (C. japonica 'Tama Peacock' × C. azlea F1 new hybeid 'Hongwu Jixiang'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.430. HAR-35-14., a cross seedling (YUJX-No.31) of C. japonica 'Tama Peacock' × C. azlea F1 new hybeid 'Hongwu Jixiang'. Flowers bright and light orange pink with white stripes, loose peony form, occasionally single form appeared, small to medium size, 7.0-9.5cm across and 4.5cm deep with 6 exterior large petals, exterior petals turned outward, apices emarginate, central some small petals mixed with the clustered stamens, pistil vestigial, filaments very pale pink, anthers golden yellow. Leaves dark green, leathery, elliptic, cuneate at the base, margins sharply and shallowly serrate. Plant upright and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from autumn, fully blooms in winter and continuously in spring. The cultivar name means “Rural Scenery”.
