Itō, Ihei, 1695, Kadan Chikinshū, vol.I; Kasuya, Kamegorō, 1859, Tsubaki Irohanayose Irotsuki: Pale pink, with white borders and red streaks. Semi-double; medium size, with 3 rows of petals. The points of the corolla are white with bamboo whisk-like stamens. Originated in Japan. Corruption of name ‘Wanokusa’. (Believed extinct.)
