SCCS., 1958, Camellia Nomenclature, p.88: Brilliant deep rose. Large, semi­double to peony form. Vigorous, open growth. Blooms mid-season to late. Originated by Har­vey Short, Ramona, California, USA. An 8 year old seedling of ‘Lotus’, (Gauntlettii) x Princess Baciocchi that first flowered 1959. Flower size, 15 cm across x 6 cm deep.
