Xilin

Xilin (C. reticulata). China Regn. #2010-063. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2010, No.16, p.46. Flowers light hot pink, loose peony form, 11-13 cm in diameter; petals 19—21 in 3 _ 4 whorls, broad circular, outer whorls flater, notched at the apex, inner whorls slightly incurved; stamens numerous, divided into several fascicles in inner petals; pistils mostly rudimentary, seldom fertile; very floriferous. Leaves ovate to obovate, 10-11 cm long, 4-6 cm wide. Branches vigorous. FI. early Jan. to late Feb. also: Records of Camellia Ancient Trees in Chuxiong, p.49 with colour photos. Maternal tree deceased, formerly at Xilin Monastery, Zixi Mountain, Chuxiong, China, but propagated by Shi Zhengyi, Longba Village by graft. Named by Zhang Fangyu. Semi-double with separated, waved layers of petals.

西林 Camellia  reticulata‘Xilin’ 中国登录号：2010-063，《中国花卉园艺》2010年第16期46页。由张方玉命名，云南省楚雄市的楚雄茶花协会培育并登录。该品种原为明代紫溪山西林寺僧人所植，1978年紫溪山龙坝村村民施正义采其枝条嫁接繁殖，成活后种植于自家地里，现已长为高4.2m，冠幅4.3m的健壮植株，并繁育了30多株后代，开花稳定且一致。花松散牡丹型，桃红色，花径11～13㎝，花瓣19～21枚，3～4轮排列，外轮花瓣波状，内轮花瓣曲折，雄蕊分数束夹生于曲折花瓣中。叶椭圆型至长卵圆形，长9.5～11㎝，宽4.2～5㎝，先端渐尖，基部楔型，边缘具细锯齿，叶面平坦。花期1月～2月。 另参见：管开云、李纪元、王仲朗主编，2014. 《中国茶花图鉴》, p. 300。识别点：本品种花色浅桃红，松散牡丹型，叶卵圆形至倒卵形，与其它云南山茶品种叶形有明显区别。
