Xinlangzhuang

Xinlangzhuang (C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica 'Tama Beauty'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.455. HB-14-10., a cross seedling (BML-No.37) of C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica 'Tama Beauty'. Flowers deep pink with purple hue and central petals with white markings at petal edges, semi-double to rose-double form, medium size, 9.0-10.0cm across and 5.5cm deep with 18-20 large petals arranged in 3 rows, petals turned outward and surfaces slightly wrinkled, stamens united into a short column at the base, bloom dense. Leaves heavy leathery, long elliptic, veins obvious and margins sharply serrate. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Blooms from early-winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Bridegroom's Clothing”.
