Yeqiu

Yeqiu (C. japonica 'Nokogiriba-tsubaki' × C. japonica 'Kramer's Supreme'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.511. HC-12-2., a cross seedling (JYK-No.14) of C. japonica 'Nokogiriba-tsubaki' × C. japonica 'Kramer's Supreme'. Flowers lightly peach red to orange red with deep red veins on the petal surfaces, slight fragrance, rose-double to formal double form, medium to large size, 8.5-11.5cm across and 5.0cm deep with 30 petals arranged orderly in over 6 rows, petals broad obovate, edges rolled inward, apices round. Leaves normal green, leathery, elliptic, margins obviously serrate. Plant compact, upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-autumn and fully blooms in winter. The cultivar name means “Wild Autumn”.
