Yuexiu

Yuexiu (C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica 'Dr.King'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.481. HB-30-5., a cross seedling (BJBS-No.12) of C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica 'Dr.King'. Flowers pink to deep pink, semi-double form, medium size, 8.5-10.0cm across and 5.0cm deep with 18-21 petals arranged orderly in 3-4 rows, petal surfaces wrinkled, stamens united at the base, flowers fall whole, bloom dense. Leaves green, heavy leathery, broad elliptic, midribs sunken, margins sharply and densely serrate. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Blooms from early- winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Surpass Beauty”.
