Flowers red, fading to white at the edges, which forms wide white borders, single to semi-double form, medium to large. Leaves green, elliptic, margins finely and densely serrate. Plant compact and growth vigorous. Blooms from late-autumn to the spring of following year.

高继银、刘信凯、赵强民，2016. 《四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》, p.534。“红山茶品种‘月光湾’的一个机遇实生苗。花朵红色，渐向花瓣边缘呈白色，形成很宽的白边，单瓣型至半重瓣型，中到大型花，花径9.8～12.3cm，花瓣8～12枚，宽大，近圆形，瓣面显清晰深红色脉纹，外翻，先端略凹，雄蕊筒状。叶片绿色，椭圆形，长7.8cm，宽3.9cm，边缘齿细密。植株紧凑，生长旺盛。秋末至翌年春季开花。
