Zhinan

Zhinan (C. reticulata). China Regn. #2010-064. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2010, No.16, p.47. Flowers red, semi-double to loose peony form, 12 cm in diameter; petals 16-18 m 2-3 whorls, broad circular, apex irregular notched; stamens and pistils mostly well-developed, fertile. Leaves 8.7- 9.7 cm long, 5-6.7 cm wide, veins conspicuous. FI. early Jan. to late Feb. See also: Records of Camellia Ancient Trees in Chuxiong, p.51 with colour photos. Maternal plant is located at the relic of Guzhulin Temple, Zixi Mountain, Chuxiong, China. Light red, semi-double to loose peony form. 

指南 Camellia reticulata ‘Zhinan’ 中国登录号：2010-064，《中国花卉园艺》2010年第16期47页。由张方玉命名，云南省楚雄市的楚雄茶花协会培育并登录。该品种生长于紫溪山古竹林寺遗址, 以清代古竹林寺方丈指南禅师之名而命名。本品种为楚雄紫溪山野生云南山茶林中选育，花松散牡丹型，红色，花径10～14㎝，花瓣16～18枚，3轮排列，外轮花瓣平，内轮花瓣曲折，雄蕊多数，围雌蕊环生。叶椭圆型，长8.7～9.7㎝，宽5～6.5㎝，先端渐尖，基部楔型至宽楔形，叶脉叶面下陷，叶背凸起，叶缘齿状细。花期1月～2月。另参见：管开云、李纪元、王仲朗主编，2014. 《中国茶花图鉴》, p. 318。
