Ziban Rongxue

Ziban Rongxue (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiafeng Relang'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.229. HAR-02-4., a cross seedling (DXFRL-No.7) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiafeng Relang'. Flowers pink with purple hue, gradually fading to pink-white at mid-part of the petals, semi­double form, large size, 11.0-12.5cm across and 4.5cm deep with 18-20 large petals arranged loosely and orderly in 3 rows, petal edges rolled inward, central small petals erected, stamens slightly scattered. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins shallowly serrate. Plant compact, bushy and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Purple Petals Melting Snow”.
