Zishou Jinzhang

Zishou Jinzhang (C. azalea × C. japonica 'Kramer's Supreme'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.22. HA-01-16., a cross seedling (DK-No.28) of C. azalea × C. japonica 'Kramer's Supreme'. Flowers purple red, semi-double to peony form, large to very large size, 11.0-13.5cm across and 6.0cm deep, 13-15 exterior wavy large petals arranged in 2 rows, 25-30 central petaloids semi- erected, wavy or twisted and mixed with stamens. Leaves dark green, leathery, long elliptic, margins shallowly serrate. Plant spread, dwarf and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means "Gold Seal with Purple Ribbon”.
