Japanese Camellia Society had ever edited an important book in 1998 called Nippon Tsubaki-Sasanqua Meikan サザンカ名鑑) published by the press Seibundō Shinkōsha (誠文堂新光社) with 359 pages totally . This a comprehensive color picture book of camellia and sasanqua that still exists in Japan in 1998, including 2200 cultivars of Camellia japonica and 200 cultivars of Camellia sasanqua, for a total of 2400 cultivars.

This is a very important Japanese camellia book. After several months' hard working, all Japanese descriptions in the book was checked one by one and added to the Register already, and all color photos had been uploaded to the Register as well (http://camellia.iflora.cn/Photos/Album/03270a26-f2cc-4ec1-8052-d24922ca04c0).  This is a big challenge because there were some big problems in the book: acutally different cultivars but share identical cultivar name (re-use name problem). So far, we had checked six Japanese Camellia Books already in recent years.
