Angelia Dean (C. reticulata) ACS, Reg. No.2389. American Camellia Yearbook, 1997,p1. with color photo in color inset 1. A large, deep dark red withfrosted sheen, semidouble C. reticulata ([C. reticulata x C.japonica 'Silver Mist'] x C. reticulata 'Nuccio's Ruby'), mid-seasonto late. Originated by Marvin Jernigan, Warner Robins, GA and propagated byDean's Nursery, lucedale, MS. The 12-year old seedling first bloomed in 1985.Average size bloom is 5" wide and 2" deep with 35 petals, 5petaloids, white anthers and white filaments. Unique color - red is so dark itlooks black.
