This 17-year-old C. japonica virus variegated form of ‘Cheryl Hunter’ first bloomed in 2001. It was originated, registered and propagated by Thomas Sellers of Bolivia, North Carolina, USA. Bloom: The very large sized 15.2cm - 17.8cm x 10.1cm (treated 19cm x 10.1cm) semi-double form flower is deep red with white variegation. It has yellow anthers and red filaments. This long lasting profuse bloomer has consistent form and falls in one piece. The blooms have heavy moiré-type variegation and standing petaloids. Plant: The plant habit is upright and open. The growth rate is average. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Leaf: The dark green leaves have low serration and average 7.6cm x 5.1cm. Bloom season: Midseason.
