American Camellia Yearbook, 1961, p.220, Reg. No.574: A 5 year old chance seedling of Galilee that first bloomed in 1959; originated by L.H. Knock, Frederick, Maryland, USA. Plant growth is upright and rapid in rate with light green leaves, 10 cm long by 4.8 cm wide. The peony form flower, 11 cm across and 6 cm deep, is carmine red with yellow stamens, 40 petals and 6 petaloids. Blooms mid-season to late.
