Fengguan Xiapei

Fengguan Xiapei (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiafeng Relang'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.237. HAR-02-12., a cross seedling (DXFRL-No.23) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiafeng Relang'. Flowers red, gradually changed into lightly purple-pink, with deep red veins visible at petal surfaces, occasionally with hazy white stripes, single to semi-double form, medium to large size, 9.0- 12.0cm across and 5.5cm deep with 21-24 large petals arranged in 4 rows, petals long obovate, stamens radial. Leaves dark green, leathery, long elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins shallowly serrate at the upper part. Plants upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-spring, fully blooms in summer, autumn and winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Phoenix Coronet & Robes”.

凤冠霞帔 Camellia ‘Fengguan Xiapei’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第237页。 HAR-02-12.杂交组合：杜鹃红山茶×杜鹃红山茶F1代新品种‘夏日热浪’，杂交苗编号：DXFRL-No.23。花朵红色，渐变为淡紫粉红色，瓣面可见深红色脉纹，偶具模糊的白条纹，单瓣型至半重瓣型，中型至大型花，花径9.0-12.0cm,花朵厚5.5cm，大花瓣21-24枚，呈4轮排列，花瓣长倒卵形，雄蕊散射。叶片浓绿色，叶背面灰绿色，革质，长椭圆形，长9.5-10.5cm,宽3.5-4.5cm,基部急楔形，上部边缘锯齿浅。植株立性，枝叶稠密，生长旺盛。春末始花，夏、秋、冬季盛花，春季零星开花。
