ACS., 1948 Newsletter, 3(2):2. Doty et al., 1949, American Camellia Yearbook, p.246: A seedling produced by Mrs J.L. Hand, Pelham, Georgia, USA from seed planted in 1939. It first flowered in 1944. The incomplete china-white flowers have fascicles of stamens with white filaments interspersed among the upright inner petals, making the flower distinc­tive. Leaves thin, narrow, medium green, glossy, 7.5 cm long x 3.2 cm wide. Serrations hair­like. Hardy, tall, vigorous grower. ACS., Reg. No.33, Quarterly, 1950, vol.5, No.1.
