Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.125, colour photo, p.241 description: Medium size, crimson, incomplete double, 4-5 rows of imbricated and channelled petals and a confused centre of stamens, petaloids and small, erect petals. Leaves, thick, long-lanceolate with tapered apex, prominent, yellowish venation on mid­green, shallowly serrate. Originated in the Kansai District, Japan. The name refers to the dia­mond shape of the petals and it is thought to be a seedling of Hishikaraito. Originated and released by Katayama Juraku’en Nursery around 1978.
