Hongrui Xiangfen

Hongrui Xiangfen (C. rosthorniana). CCRN2022001. This cultivar was registered by Xu Lin, Li Qingyuan, Chen Baolin and Fu Shao from Wuhan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. A chance seedling of C. rosthorniana. Shrub 1.2-1.5 m tall, dense branches. Juvenile buds yellow-green, terminal buds solitary. Young shoots light green, densely pilose. Leaves dense and alternate, arranged in a nearly pinnate shape; 2-3cm long, 1.5-2cm wide, long elliptic, V-shape; leaf margins finely serrated, broadly cuneate, acuminate . Flower buds terminal and axillary, sepals green, ovate, flower diameter 3.6-4.0cm, single, 5 petals; petals elliptic, slightly concave at the top, strong folds at the edges; petals pink, slightly darker at the base; stamens ca 30, arranged in a tube shape, connected at the base, filaments pink to dark pink. Stigma 3-lobed shallowly. It blooms once a year, and the flowering period is from late February to mid-March.

红蕊香粉Camellia rosthorniana ‘Hongrui Xiangfen’，登录号：CCRN2022001。该品种由武汉市农业科学院的许林，李清源，陈宝林，傅劭登录。从川鄂连蕊茶野生植株中选育，常绿灌木，株高120cm～150cm，株型开张，丛生。嫩芽黄绿色，顶芽单生，嫩枝淡绿色，密被柔毛。叶片稠密，互生，排列为近羽叶状；长2cm～3cm，宽1.5cm～2cm，长椭圆形，叶面绿色，无斑点，横截面内折；叶缘有细锯齿，宽楔形，渐尖。花芽顶生和腋生，萼片绿色，卵形，花径3.6cm～4.0cm，单瓣型，瓣5枚；花瓣椭圆形，顶端微凹，边缘褶皱强；花瓣粉红色，基部稍深；雄蕊约30枚，筒型排列，基部连生，无瓣化，花丝粉红色至深粉红色。柱头3裂浅。年开花单次，花期2月下旬～3月中旬。
