Franchetti, 1855, Collezione di Camelie, p.37, as 'Iride di Bibbiani': Vivid red at the centre and circumference, with intermediate petals paler. Imbricated. Orthographic errors: ‘Iride di Bibiani’, ‘Iride di Bibbiani’. Originated in Italy. Appears to be the same cultivar as Iride Nuova.
